My 3 tips on starting a relationship with the Holy Trinity <3
Back in April I posted an blog that addressed called, "Is There More to Life?" where I stated "My 3 tips on starting a relationship with the Holy Trinity." Today, I want to share what has worked for me. Also, I want to express a little about the miracles and blessings I have seen as my faith deepens and my relationship with God grows.
1) Worship, Dance & Sing
Worship can be such fun! It can become a habit, it can be something that you crave, and it can be something that comes out of you when you least expect it.
The other day, I was driving and listening to a normal pop song on the radio. All of the sudden, I started praising God, singing along to the tune, but with words of gratitude of how great God is! It was so fun! I had no idea where it came from, and I was glad I was alone because that would have been embarrassing.
Once I noticed the words coming out of my mouth I felt a bright light shine on me. I felt a peace and a stillness and I continued to sing my own words of praise for the rest of the song. I brought focus and reality to what I was saying and I thanked God for the day ahead.
That day, was filled with unexpected blessings! I made encounters that I wouldn't have even thought could happen, especially not now. But God has a way of making things happen, and boy, does living in his presence quicken his ability!
After teaching yoga at Centre Ice Fitness, I had a wonderful opportunity of meeting the both the Grand Rapids Griffins & Detriot Red Wings Athletic Trainers - I have a goal to teach yoga for the Red Wings - but I assumed it wouldn't happen for years. After speaking with them, it could possibly happen a lot sooner than I thought! ;) Prayers welcomed.
I continued on with my day, calling my parents and my cousin Bella to share the news. I was praising God as I went to meet my gift of a friend, Allie, for lunch at Oryana. (Oh, just wait until I share the story of meeting Allie - what a blessing we are for each other. I'll write that soon)
Anyways, Allie chose our table, we ended up sitting next to a gentleman named Chris. As we started talking to Chris we created a connection. He ended up expressing he could connect me with an investor that could possibly help with starting a Plant Based Cafe in Glen Arbor, which is also a dream of mine that I thought wouldn't happen for years!
-- God, how good you are. --
Leaving lunch in a place of amazement I drove off to have a meeting at Bonobo Winery. This meeting began because, a few days before, I felt called to ask the owner of Bonobo if they were interested in hosting yoga. Honestly, the idea arrived from no where. My parents were with me, standing in amazement when they heard me ask. But, just as God works, this gut feeling unfolded effortlessly!
After lunch, I had a successful meeting with Abby Clear at Bonobo and now I will be teaching yoga there on Saturday mornings, an opportunity I couldn't have even imagine but God made it happen. (Check out my event page for more information ! )
These three things were completely out of my control, the timing was so perfect it had to be God's work.
I PRAISE you Lord for that day! For the glimpse of how flawless it is to live in your presence, and the awareness that you are working on my dreams; that all my dreams, and deepest desires will unfold effortlessly, and for your Glory.
The littlest bit of worship; dancing, singing and praising God can have an amazing impact on your life. I wonder what would have happened that day if I didn't start it in his presence if I didn't glorify him on my way to Traverse City. God may I praise you all the days of my life!
The things that are right for you will glorify God. They will create a feeling of peace. They will unfold effortlessly, they will leave you stronger, and more grounded in God's love.
2) Read & Ask Questions
Every day, we have the opportunity to nourish our minds with what we read, think, and ask about.
I start every day reading scripture or a program that I am following. For instance, one of the books I am currently reading is “I DECLARE; 31 Promises to Speak of Over Your Life," by Joel Osteen. The 10-15 minutes I spend reading, and writing down questions that arise from what I read in the morning, sets the tone for my entire day. It nourishes me to know that God is good and everything that happens today, the ups or downs, are in my favor.
Todays Promise: Day Twenty-Eight
“I DECLARE that I will ask God for big things in my life. I will pray bold prayers and expect big and believe big. I will ask God to bring to pass those hidden dreams that are deep in my heart. If certain promises do not look like they will happen, I will not be intimidated and give up. I will pray with boldness, expecting God to show Himself strong, knowing that nothing is too difficult for Him. That is my declaration.”
A couple questions:
How do you start your day?
What do you think of when you wake up in the morning?
Take time to create a morning routine even 3-5 days long. Commit to focusing on God right when you wake up and then ask yourself those questions again. What changes? What transforms in you?
3) Pray & Give Gratitude
I am a full believer that we all create our own reality; the only difference is if we do it knowingly.
If you constantly find yourself in a place of prayer, asking for peace, abundance, happiness and strength; if you give gratitude for whatever situation you are in, what bad thing can transpire? Our words are power.
My prayer currently:
"Lord, I thank you for my family, my friends, my experiences, my belongings, my past, my present & my unbelievable fun, laughter filled, peaceful, exciting and effortless life a head of me! As I live closer to your presence my entire being glows and fills with peace!! Thank you for your love.
Lord, I pray to be determined, consistent and successful. I pray for your glory, your abundance and for the extraordinary life that you promise! I pray for peace of mind, I pray for fun and for laughter. I pray for adventure and ease. I pray for financial freedom, and I pray that I never forget you, you get all the glory Lord! You are amazing. Thank you. In your Holy Name, Amen!"
This prayer is mine for now, but each day it molds & changes in form. I add prayers for loved ones, for strangers and for the world. It's my base that I come back to at any moment.
What do you want to increase in your life? We can only think so many thoughts in a day, why not spend them thinking praise and gratitude! We speak authority over our lives! Speak your truth, pray bold prayers!
